The village of Bard is a typical crossing settlement, with houses aligned along the sides of the ancient Roman consular road, the Via Claudia Augusta. As a stopping point and toll payment location, the settlement maintained its importance during the Middle Ages, being on the route from Canterbury to Rome: the Via Francigena.
Within the medieval village, there are numerous buildings dating from the 13th to 16th centuries, with over twenty constructions classified as “monumental houses” featuring facades with significant historical and architectural value.
At number 63 in the village, you will find Casa Urbano, whose facade displays a medieval decorative motif and a Savoy coat of arms.
Casa Urbano Lodge offers three apartments, each a two-room unit with three beds, accessible only via a staircase. The interiors may be spread across multiple levels with the presence of stairs and/or steps.
